Sudhir Sekhsaria, M.D., FAAAAI, FACAAI
Dr. Sekhsaria has been practicing since founding the Asthma, Allergy & Sinus Center in 1992. He is board certified in Allergy & Immunology, and has been certified in Diagnostic and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Sekhsaria completed his fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, after completing a pediatric residency at Howard University Hospital. He has published many scientific articles in
asthma, allergy and immunology. He is actively involved in teaching physicians-in-training about asthma, allergic disease and immune problems. Dr. Sekhsaria has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the specialty’s premier organization. He has been voted a TOP DOC in Baltimore Magazine multiple times.

Denise Johnson, PA-C
Denise Johnson is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant/ Associate who has been practicing Allergy and Immunology for over twenty years. She became a full-time member of AASC in 2012 and has worked part-time with the group since 2004. Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, N.J. and completed her PA Professional training at Towson-Essex PA Program in Baltimore, MD. Previous PA experience includes Neurology, Neurosurgery at Walter Reed National Military Hospital and Adolescent Medicine at Department of Youth Rehabilitative Services in Washington, D.C. She has also worked and trained under several allergist in the local community and is a member of Greater Washington Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and American Academy of Physician Associates. Denise especially enjoys taking care of adults and children with eczema and severe asthma. During her spare time Denise studies and provides talks during community events and to nursing students on nutrition, practices Yoga and Zumba, serves in ministry at her church, gardens and most of all loves traveling and spending time with her family.

Akimyo Russell, fnp-bc
Akimyo Russell is a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in the care of allergic disorders and primary immunodeficiencies. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Credentialing Center and licensed by the state of Virginia and Maryland to provide healthcare to patients of all ages. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from North Carolina Central University in 2001 and received her Master’s Degree from Marymount University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2006. She is passionate about wellness and promotes living well physically and mentally when delivering care to her patients.
She is a Functional Medicine provider as well as a Whole Health Coach and strongly believes in taking care of the whole person, allowing her to effectively partner with her clients to help them to reach their goals. She has extensive experience in complex allergic and immunologic disorders, medical weight loss, Neurology with a concentration in Multiple Sclerosis, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Primary Care, and has served as the Medical Director of the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center. Her true desire is to get to the root of her patients medical conditions and help them to reach their goals of being well.
In her spare time she enjoys, fishing, gardening, traveling, skiing and spending time with her husband and 3 children.
